Recommended Free Applications to use with the VX30 Universal Video Encoder!
There are many aplications that can help you in making great streaming videos. This is a list of free/open source applications that will help you encode, edit, and capture video and HTML.
AVIcodec - File Analyzer This software gives detailled information on your file, especially the codecs needed to play it, and where to download those codecs if they are missing on your system. This is great for finding out how to play those exotic or hard to play videos.
VirtualDub - Capture and Crocessing Utility The next application in our list is VirtualDub. VirtualDub is a video capture and processing utility that has a large community behind it. You can edit, clean, and encode AVI videos and capture video with the software. I have found many tutorials that use this fine piece of software.
FFdshow - DirectShow and VFW Codec Our next application is ffdshow. ffdshow is DirectShow and VFW codec for decoding/encoding many video and audio formats, including DivX and XviD movies using libavcodec, xvid and other opensourced libraries with a rich set of postprocessing filters. This software lives behind the scene and will handle the decoding of most videos.
CamStudio - Screen Capture Utility Record your desktop with this next application. CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and turn it into an AVI. If you ever wanted to demonstrate how to preform a task on a computer to someone far away this is it. With CamStudio and VX30 you can record your movements on a pc and display them though the net for people to watch.
FileZilla - FTP Client My favorite free software is FileZilla. FileZilla is a fast FTP and SFTP client for Windows with a lot of features. Although the VX30 Encoder comes with a built in FTP Client you will need a stand alone FTP Client at some point and FileZilla just does it right.
Nvu - HTML Editor We still need to edit HTML. Nvu is a complete Web Authoring System for Linux desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. With Nvu anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML.
Aptana - Integrated Development Environment Our last application may be a bit of over kill for most of us, but if you realy want to grow as a web designer this is for you. Aptana is a robust, JavaScript-focused IDE for building dynamic web applications. This is profesionl grade software for free. It can also be used with the Eclipse framework to extend its abilities.
